Why Your Role Matters:
We have two newly created Societal Impact Evaluation Officer roles designed to strengthen how UNSW understands measures and demonstrates its impact across society the economy and the environment.
Working within the Division of Societal Impact Equity and Engagement (SIEE) you will play a pivotal role in advancing UNSWs Progress for All strategy helping the University elevate and understand the impact contributions it makes through education research engagement operations and governance.
These roles will help design and implement UNSWs first university-wide approach to demonstrating and understanding its progress towards and contribution to impact. You will partner with diverse teams to embed evaluation practices into planning delivery and reporting co-create useful outputs and actionable insights facilitate iterative development of the underlying approach and enabling technology and help build a culture that supports and celebrates more people contributing more impact more easily.

Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with academic and professional teams to design and embed practical impact evaluation approaches
- Collect analyse and synthesise quantitative and qualitative data to generate clear actionable insights
- Develop high quality outputs including reports case studies and visual materials tailored to different audiences
- Build evaluation capability across the University through coaching tools and practical support
- Support the ongoing development and adoption of the UNSW Societal Impact Framework and indicator bank
- Engage and consult with stakeholders to strengthen scale and continuously improve impact practices
- Contribute to embedding impact into planning and delivery including defining success measures and evaluation approaches
- Manage projects in a complex environment balancing ambition with delivery and navigating dependencies
Who You Are:
You are a curious proactive and adaptable professional who thrives in complex environments. You bring a balance of rigour and pragmatism with the confidence to navigate ambiguity and take initiative.
You are a strong communicator and stakeholder partner with high emotional intelligence and the ability to translate diverse data points into practical outcomes.
You will bring:
- Experience in impact evaluation program evaluation or social research
- Strong quantitative and qualitative data skills
- Experience working in large or complex environments
- The ability to turn data into clear meaningful insights
- Strong stakeholder engagement and project management capability
- A solutions focused mindset and willingness to roll up your sleeves
