Job Summary:The Cultural Resources Investigator performs laboratory and field investigations. Originates conducts and reports research. Manages allocation of funds within a contract or grant budget.

Required Minimum Qualifications:Bachelors degree and six (6) years of cultural research experience; OR masters degree and four (4) years of cultural research experience.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. drivers license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.

Skills and Knowledge:Ability to apply conventional research methods and techniques in their field of expertise to expeditiously organize and execute research tasks. Possess a combination of training experience and talent in research administration. Possess the experience and skill necessary to design research strategies and develop realistic budgets for research projects. Possess strong interpersonal skills sufficient to work in a team environment. May work on or supervise more than one team (project) at a time and will be constantly required to interface with and often supervise researchers and workers from other disciplines with contrasting training abilities and proclivities. Must have independent and innovative thinking skills decision-making skills and capable of integrative thinking at the highest level of complexity.

Preferred Qualifications:Ph.D. degree in Anthropology Archaeology History or a closely related discipline OR a Masters degree in Anthropology Archaeology History or a closely related discipline.
