Within AWM the Financing and Debt Capital Markets team (DCM) is responsible for sourcing negotiation and execution of financing agreements for funds and products managed by Goldman Sachs. The team ensures global consistency in terms and adherence to critical risk management principles while managing the firms lender and counterparty relationships to originate and optimize debt capital for various investment products. This capital is a critical component of the performance we deliver to our investors.
Analyst within DCM will support more senior team members in the execution of transactions and manage a variety of recurring tasks while also mentoring junior team members. The successful applicant will demonstrate a consistent track-record of achievement be comfortable working in a fast-paced dynamic environment can manage multiple projects concurrently and possess strong interpersonal and technical skills.
Role Responsibilities:
- Supporting senior team members in origination negotiation and execution of debt facilities with emphasis on private credit facilities for Private Credit investment teams
- Building financial models and analyzing data/debt structures to advise stakeholders on optimal options
- Managing relationships with lenders and rating agencies acting as a point of contact between institutional clients external counsels and internal stakeholders (operations middle office legal investment teams compliance etc.)
- Collaborating with other teams post-transaction execution
- Preparing materials for debt origination (lender presentations collateral analysis committee documents transaction pipeline etc.)
- Liaising with investment teams across products
- Contributing to strategic initiatives and product innovation
- Tracking reporting and analyzing detailed performance metrics
- Creating management presentations and responding to ad hoc requests
- Supporting technological initiatives related to these responsibilities
- Providing presentation materials for management and investment committee meetings
- Additional responsibilities as business needs dictate
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Finance Economics Mathematics or related field
- Two years of experience in the role or related position
- Prior work experience must include two years assisting in the origination negotiation and execution of debt facilities especially in Private Credit (including private bank-led credit facilities securitizations and privately placed debt in capital markets)
- Financial modeling expertise (sensitivity analysis debt cost forecasting flow of funds portfolio/pipeline management market comparisons)
- Experience with investment funds structures asset management liquidity management and investment strategies
- Relationship management with lenders and institutional counterparties
- Legal documentation due diligence and compliance for servicing and executing agreements
- Strong analytical and technical skills attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written
- Ability to stay organized multi-task and meet tight deadlines
- Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn including AI implementation
- Exemplary work ethic and integrity
- Collaborative team player willing to assist beyond formal job duties
- Proficiency in Excel Word PowerPoint
