Strategic Business Development Manager - Global Freight Forwarding (Permanent) - Gauteng

Our client a global leader in freight forwarding is seeking a high-performing and strategic Business Development Manager to drive growth and expand market share within a defined region. This role is ideal for a commercially astute professional with a strong background in Freight Logistics sales who excels at winning new business building long-term client relationships and delivering tailored supply chain solutions. If you are a results-driven individual with deep industry knowledge and a passion for growth this opportunity is for you.

LOCATION: Gauteng

Qualifications/Experience Required
  • Minimum 6 years experience in freight forwarding sales or business development
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent qualification
  • Strong understanding of the freight forwarding and logistics industry
  • Proven track record in new business development and account growth
  • Excellent communication presentation and negotiation skills
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building ability
  • Experience in sales forecasting pipeline management and CRM systems
  • Commercially driven with a strong focus on results and profitability
Role & Responsibilities
  • Execute targeted sales strategies aligned with market trends and business objectives
  • Identify engage and win new business through proactive prospecting
  • Build strong relationships with customers by understanding their business needs
  • Develop and grow large customer accounts using a consultative sales approach
  • Take ownership of RFQs and deliver compelling proposals bids and quotations
  • Drive revenue growth profitability and market share within the assigned region
  • Actively manage the sales pipeline and ensure accurate forecasting
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless onboarding and service delivery
  • Support customer retention through cross-functional engagement
  • Monitor market trends competitor activity and customer feedback
  • Promote sustainable and value-added logistics solutions
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and support sustainability initiatives
