Job Summary
Job Summary
The Building Mechanics are responsible for maintaining the University facilities through regular inspections preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance. This position reports to the Mechanic Supervisor and will assistant the Building Mechanics in replacing lightbulbs and ballasts filters screens etc.; installing fixtures; light construction and plumbing; and some light cleaning of mechanical spaces and equipment. A valid drivers license and a driving record background check are required prior to being hired. Student employees must also successfully complete Campus Safetys online driver safety training before driving on campus for this position. The hours available to work are Monday through Friday between 8:00am-4:30pm. We can be flexible with class scheduling. We are hiring for this position on a rolling basis.
Minimum Qualifications
Valid drivers license Must consent to a driving record background check Ability to learn and abide by safety policies and procedures Must be available to work on-campus during the summer months (May-August)
Preferred Qualifications
Mechanical aptitude and interest Previous experience with with minor plumbing and electrical repairs Previous experience using basic hand tools
