Job Summary
This position is for the full academic year. THIS POSITION IS FOR UPPERCLASSMEN ONLY. FRESHMEN ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR DEPARTMENT POSITIONS.
Expected hours of work per week: 10-15
Work Location & Hours: Sanderson 208 or other locations as agreed upon typically between 9-5 occasional evening rehearsal or performance attendance (flexible around schedule).

- Writes well and enjoys creating content
- Easily creates tasks and goals based on general direction and vision
- Excels in working independently requires little supervision
- Interested in learning about communications and marketing in arts or non-profit organizations
- Reliably follows timelines and meets deadlines

- Positive attitude and flexibility in the workplace
- Proactive self-starter - initiates ideas and gets help when needed
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Solves problems creatively sometimes in time-pressure situations
- Hours are typically 10-15 hours/week with work completed independently based on a weekly in-person meeting and follow-up conversations with the staff supervisor.
Helpful but not required:
- Coursework and/or experience in marketing or graphic design
- Experience with Canva or other design software
- Photo editing and/or video recording/editing skills
Expected Duties and Responsibilities:
- Creates daily (except Sunday) posts for Instagram and Facebook including imagery/videos and written copy
- Meets with staff and students and attends rehearsals/production meetings as needed to get material and ideas
- Collaborates on creating social media posting plan and adheres to timeline
- Creates drafts of other types of written content (press releases blog posts/articles website copy production programs etc.) based on research and staff guidance and submits by deadlines
- Submits production information to community calendars
- Hangs flyers/posters on campus and in the community (if they have a car)
- Seeks new opportunities for production and program marketing
- Assists with other aspects of production if necessary to work all awarded hours
