Equity Platform Site Reliability Engineer

A leading global financial services organization is looking to strengthen its Equity technology capability in Hong Kong. The team supports and enhances a high-performance Equity platform across Asia with a strong focus on stability resilience and delivering a seamless digital experience for trading users and clients.
The position
We are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer / Equity Platform Support professional to join an agile Equity platform team. This role sits within Global Information Technology and will work closely with business technology and operations stakeholders to support production systems and improve the reliability of critical Equity trading platforms.
The role & responsibilities
- Support and enhance the Equity platform to improve stability resilience and user experience.
- Work closely with Asia FO Trading to understand BAU workflows service needs and SLA expectations.
- Monitor production systems and ensure strong instrumentation for day-to-day performance and stability analysis.
- Investigate recurring issues bottlenecks and shortfalls through testing and ad hoc analysis.
- Propose and help implement fixes through code refactoring design improvements or infrastructure sizing.
- Contribute to DevOps and CI/CD improvements to support efficient delivery and live issue remediation.
- Collaborate with Asia and global delivery teams to drive technical and organizational excellence.
- Use AI-assisted tools such as GitHub Copilot to improve development speed and delivery quality.
The requirements
- Strong knowledge of financial markets Equity products and front-to-back workflows.
- Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce clear and structured documentation.
- Ability to explain technical topics clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- C# experience is desirable.
- Experience supporting systems in a Windows Server environment including Windows services IIS and Scheduled Tasks.
- Experience supporting systems in a UNIX environment including general navigation and reading UNIX shell / Perl scripts.
- Strong SQL skills including querying SQL databases reading Stored Procedures and understanding basic query optimisation.
- Experience with large batch systems preferably Control-M.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as ITRS Geneos.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of instruments such as Stocks Indices Options Futures and Swaps as well as P&L and VaR concepts.
- Degree preferred ideally in Computer Science.
- Prior experience in IT development Support or SRE within the financial industry.
- Self-motivated autonomous meticulous a fast learner and able to work under pressure.
