Job Summary
Responsibilities
- Manage the design of the rolling stock projects for passenger train locomotive engineering vehicle depot equipment mechanical or electrical systems
- Monitor and maintain performance targets of new trains procured under the mega projects
- Execute detailed design and coordinate technical interfaces between existing systems and work with internal and external stakeholders
- Conduct investigation for rolling stock operational and maintenance issues
- Review technical specifications and assess project design submissions with contractors
- Carry out quality inspection and supervision for new train production in contractor factory outside Hong Kong
- Attend factory tests site inspections as well as support testing and commissioning activities globally and locally
- Provide input and carry out technical studies to support new railway lines
Review tender submissions contract specifications and preparation of tender assessment reports
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic Engineering or a related discipline
- A minimum of 8 years experiences preferably gained in a railway environment of which 2 years should be at senior supervisory level
- Possession of Corporate Membership of a recognized professional institution is preferred
- Solid design or maintenance experience in Rolling Stock is an advantage
- Be self-motivated and resourceful with strong communication interpersonal analytical and decision-making skills
- Frequent travel and stay outside Hong Kong are necessary
- Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua)
Remarks
- Appointment will be made on two-year renewable contract terms
- Candidates with less experience will be considered for the Design Engineer Rolling Stock position
