Job Summary
Provide regulatory support for significant station initiatives and/or Energy Northwest objectives. This includes interface with Engineering Projects team members other plant organizations representatives of supporting vendors peers in industry and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. This individual provides the regulatory and technical support detailed below for assigned tasks following defined station processes. At the Engineer II level this requires the ability to perform moderately complex tasks with a moderate level of independence.
Principal Accountabilities
- Provide consultation to ES&D management to assure nuclear safety licensing and regulatory issues are identified addressed and resolved.
- Provide strategic guidance and recommendations to ES&D management on matters affecting regulatory and environmental project performance.
- Represent the organization with applicable regulators industry work groups workshops and conferences.
- Understand Environmental Review needs which may include the conduct of field and onsite visits as needed.
- Collaborate with a team of experts in licensing and environmental laws to support discussion and resolution of licensing/environmental process issues.
- Keep ES&D management apprised of latest licensing and environmental policies rules and standards that may need to be followed.
Skills and Experience
- Requires knowledge and ability to apply advanced engineering techniques practices and theories and methods to identify and solve moderately complex problems
- Ability to apply engineering principles outside of specialty area and train others on matters related to Regulatory Affairs
- Requires ability to use standard Microsoft Office suite products
- Requires effective written and verbal communication skills with ability to cater to audiences which are non-technical or have varying levels of technical proficiency
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university and three years of engineering experience in a technical environment at least two of which must be in a Department of Energy or Nuclear Regulatory Commission regulated nuclear environment;
- OR a PE license obtained by accredited examination and five years of engineering experience in a technical environment at least two of which must be in a Department of Energy or Nuclear Regulatory Commission regulated nuclear environment
- A high school diploma or GED is required

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $49.03 to $70.47/hour.
