Job Title: Technical Support Engineer Performance
Number of Positions: 1
About the Role We are looking for a Technical Support Engineer Performance to join our team. The engineer will be responsible for managing and resolving critical performance and availability issues on the ServiceNow platform. This is a customer-facing role requiring strong technical expertise in diagnosing and resolving performance degradations database optimization and application troubleshooting.
The role may require weekend/holiday rotational support outside normal business hours.
Responsibilities - Resolve complex performance-related issues on the ServiceNow platform.
- Analyze transactional throughput memory CPU job processing and disk utilization using tools such as Splunk Grafana and BigData.
- Perform database tuning: query optimization adding indexes maintaining tables and execution plan analysis.
- Review JavaScript and Java application code for performance concerns and provide solutions.
- Collaborate with Development Infrastructure Networking and Hardware teams for RCA and issue resolution.
- Conduct advanced Unix/Linux troubleshooting including analyzing Java heap dumps and thread dumps.
Mandate Skills - Relational Databases (MySQL / Oracle)
- Java (OOP principles memory management)
- JavaScript (preferred) / Python / Perl
- Unix/Linux (advanced troubleshooting)
- Performance diagnosis & database tuning (e.g. explain plans query optimization)
- Strong communication & customer service orientation
Good-to-Have Skills - Splunk Grafana BigData
- Networking concepts (TCP/IP)
- Web services (JDBC ODBC)
- ITSM / ITIL / CMDB knowledge
Education - Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent
