Lead a team of high-performing software engineering professionals managing projects focused on developing both business and technical solutions that align with organizational goals.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for recruiting managing and mentoring one or multiple teams of software engineers to achieve shared departmental objectives.

  • Guide teams in designing and delivering world-class software solutions.

  • Provides technical support and guidance to teams and leaders; secures required resources to ensure timely completion of work.

  • Establish and implement standard operating procedures that support process functionality and provide the necessary infrastructure for delivering effective efficient and economical services.

  • Oversee the deployment of hardware and software infrastructure components to maximize process consistency and minimize costs by efficiently managing the infrastructure environment.

  • Critically assess complex problems and consider a wide range of potential solutions before determining the best approach.

  • Adhere to established policies and guidelines for projects within purview to ensure management goals are met and desired outcomes are achieved. Influence key quality metrics including customer satisfaction continuous improvement recurring revenue timeliness accuracy efficiency cost savings and overall process quality.

  • Manage all personnel matters and performance evaluations for direct reports maintaining a focus on overall employee satisfaction within the division.

  • Additional responsibilities and tasks may be assigned by Caterpillar management as needed.

  • Oversees both individual and team performance; identifies and addresses staff training and development requirements. Conducts performance evaluations provides constructive feedback and supports ongoing professional development.

  • Coordinates walkthroughs and project reviews to ensure compliance with established standards and adherence to design specifications.

  • Develops comprehensive work plans schedules project estimates resource allocations and status reports; proactively monitors and resolves performance and schedule challenges.

  • Collaborates with subject matter experts system architects product management and service owners to deliver business requirements from an engineering perspective. Prioritises availability performance and scalability of digital products and services to meet defined SLAs.

  • Defines key components and operational strategies with measurable contributions towards organisational objectives.

  • Designs automation tools to analyse application logs and database metrics providing actionable data insights.

  • Reviews team deliverables and regular updates to leadership and business stakeholders

Qualification

  • 12 years of experience in designing developing testing deploying and maintaining software at scale

  • 3 years of experience managing multiple scrum teams participate in technical/architecture discussions provide technical direction and drive decision making within your team

  • Proven experience in software development and leadership roles

  • Project management skills is a plus

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.

  • Hands-on in Java/.Net programming with experience in leading the engineers and providing technical guidance.

  • Must demonstrate solid knowledge of computer science fundamentals like data structures and algorithms.

  • Ability to work under pressure and within time constraints

  • Good understanding on Application architectural patterns such as MVC Microservices Event-driven etc.

  • Work experience in Cloud platform AWS/Azure

  • Basic knowledge on the Message brokers such as Azure Service Bus Kafka AWS SQS AWS SNS Apache ActiveMQ Kinesis Azure Event Hub

  • Good understanding on Azure DevOps CI/CD deployments

  • Hands on experience with API tools such as Swagger Postman and Assertible

  • Developing/supporting software applications using relational and NoSQL databases

  • Knowledge of Agile software development (scrum)

  • Good understanding on the security aspects of application and backend services

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

This position requires working onsite five days a week.
