The Global Quality Engineer I is a full-time exempt role that is responsible for the inspection and verification of all new product developments to ensure that the outputs of Product Development meet our high-quality standards. This person seeks quality efficiencies for large scale manufacturing. The Global Quality Engineer will work closely with the Product Development and Operations Teams throughout the development phase as well as factory partners during onboarding through the production phase to ensure that individual product construction details and inspection criteria have been well defined and communicated. They act as the main feedback facilitator between our factories and development teams during pre-production and bulk production phases. The Global Quality Engineer will have a strong eye for detail a systematic and process-driven approach to the timely execution of deliverables against product development and commercialization calendars and an intimate understanding of relevant construction methods quality standards materials and manufacturing processes.

This role is based on-site in Bozeman MT.

Responsibilities:

Partner with other quality team members to oversee the preproduction and production phases of soft goods manufacturing inspect and evaluate pricing runs pre-production samples and various other projects.

Ensure suppliers are provided with the best opportunity to make products both efficiently and effectively while maintaining our well-known quality standards

Keep and maintain an accurate inventory of all preproduction samples at the Bozeman Office and at our suppliers. Requesting new samples when samples become outdated. Regularly audit supplier preproduction sample inventories to ensure accurate samples are maintained.

Work closely with Designers Product Developers and Quality Team members to inspect and audit Product Development samples prototypes sub-assemblies and other constructions for Quality Assurance purposes. Feedback with Design & Development team members regarding proposed changes and improvements to design and construction methods for increased quality output during manufacturing. Inspect factory samples and prototypes (Pricing SMS PP TOP) and provide feedback and troubleshoot issues with manufacturers and Product Developers alike.

Assist with the Quality Management System and Internal Audits when necessary.

Work with the Quality Manager to develop Quality Assurance priorities for new product developments and communicate with factory partners on Quality Onboarding Quality Assurance processes milestones etc.

Work with Quality Team members and Product Development to continuously improve inspection instructions callouts and criteria both by product and by product category for Fit Form and Function.

Ensure that Production and Pricing Packages are accurate and notify responsible developer of any discrepancies or required updates.

Evaluate and communicate results of non-conforming products with the appropriate Product Manager appropriate Sales Manager and Contract Manufacturer to determine product disposition.

Qualifications:

Greater than 2 years relevant experience

Bachelors preferred or equivalent experience

Must possess a current and valid passport for international travel or be able to obtain upon employment

One year sewing and or Inspection experience preferred.

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred

Understand construction of MYSTERY RANCH/YETI Soft Goods Products.

Experience working with contract manufacturers.

Experience working with quality systems.

Excellent communication and organizational skills and a positive attitude.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office with a working knowledge of Excel.

Ability to quickly adjust priorities.

Excellent working knowledge of NetSuite and Centric.

This is a full-time position based at the Bozeman MT. YETI location

Remote work is at the discretion of the manager(s) and dependent on YETI policies

May require working off-hours outside of the regular Monday-Friday 9am-5pm schedule

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

Ability to travel internationally as necessary.

Ability to work and communicate in a culturally diverse environment
