Job Summary
About the role:
This position is situated within the MacKillop National After Hours Services Unit which is responsible for providing residential care home based care lead tenant and case management support for young people with high and complex needs and a therapeutically oriented program for young people in protective placements.
The Team Leader After Hours Services Will provide supervision and support to After Hours Support Workers assist in recruitment training professional development of Support Work within Residential Care Nationally assist in the development of the Support Worker roles and responsibilities Nationally contribute to the development of services participate in Support Workers meetings Nationally undertake appropriate case notes and services recording as required and liaise with DFFH other agencies and professionals parents and families where appropriate.
This is a Full-Time (4 Days 38 Hours a week) opportunity based in Preston VIC within our After-Hours Program. The position reports to the National Manager MacKillop After Hours.
Key Selection Criteria:
To be successful in this role the incumbent will have:
- A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children young people and their families.
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications
- Sound professional knowledge and theory base.
- Extensive experience in child/adolescent welfare practice.
- Demonstrated professional case management skills especially in crisis intervention and behaviour management.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively with others and exercise influence in a diversity of contexts.
- Ability to participate collaboratively and constructively within teams of peers staff and other stakeholders as well as initiative and effective personal judgement when working alone.
