Job Summary

The office Manager / Controller is responsible for exercising sound judgment to make independent discretionary decisions regarding the dealerships overall financial and office workflow while also providing support to all departments to produce increased revenue control expenses; contribute to customer satisfaction and ensure excellent employee satisfaction. Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  • Closes month by processing accounting month-end and submits Financial Statement by OEM requirements.
  • Oversee or perform tasks to ensure that financial functions are reconciled monthly including (but not limited to): cash accounts receivables prepaid expenses fixed assets accounts payables manufacturer statements payroll administration vehicle deal commissioning inter-company accounts.
  • Meet all daily monthly quarterly and annual deadlines as required by the General Manager including: daily DOCS monthly reconciliations monthly and quarterly reporting financial analysis year-end reporting etc.
  • Work closely with the General Manager and Ownership to ensure all their financial and accounting needs are met and relevant analysis is performed.
  • Maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Assists outside CPA firm in annual review/audit requirements.
  • Recruit Lead mentor and coach an accounting team including planning assigning scheduling and reviewing of work ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Assist with the training process and ongoing development of assigned team to ensure understanding and compliance with the accounting DMS accounting policies controls reporting timelines and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in accounting or similar field
  • 10 years of automotive Controller or Office Manager experience
  • Strong knowledge of CDK computer system is a must
  • Lead and manage a staff of 6
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting theories concepts and practices and the ability to navigate complex difficult and/or unprecedented situations.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills combined with the ability to interact and gain the support of senior leadership and other decision makers.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Results-driven and career focused individual with an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong desire to be successful.
  • Detail oriented self-motivated and resourceful.
  • Must have expert excel skills and be highly skilled in other standard office software (MS Word PowerPoint Outlook etc.)
