Job Summary

Zoe Royer Member of Parliament for Port MoodyCoquitlam is seeking a highly organized detail-oriented and proactive professional to serve as Senior Parliamentary Operations & Communications Officer in the Ottawa office.

About the role:

This is a high-responsibility role at the centre of the Members daily operations on Parliament Hill. Every action taken in this position reflects directly on the Office of the Member of Parliament. The successful candidate must demonstrate exceptional professionalism urgency discretion and judgement.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Triage & Inter-Office Coordination: Work seamlessly with the constituency office to ensure the appropriate triage prioritization and action on casefiles while taking into account requirements in Ottawa.
  • Parliamentary and Legislative Support: Conduct research prepare briefing notes and coordinate with other offices to ensure the Member is well supported and prepared for parliamentary requirements.
  • Executive and Operational Management: Maintain the Members calendar including the management of travel logistics event preparation and expense tracking.
  • Strategic Communications and Social Media: Create finalize and track engagement of social media posts on all major platforms.
  • School Engagement & Civic Outreach: Assist with the coordination and preparation of school presentations.
  • Youth Council Leadership & Civic Development: Oversee and develop the Youth Council Leadership Program which will include the recruitment of students planning of monthly activities and the building of community initiatives that support youth development and parliamentary engagement.

Qualifications :

Education:

  • Post-secondary education from a recognized institution OR an acceptable combination of education training and relevant experience.

Experiences:

  • Experience providing highlevel administrative logistical and operational coordination including independently managing complex schedules and prioritizing competing demands.
  • Experience in conducting research and maintaining awareness of national and international news.
  • Experience preparing internal communications briefing materials and meeting documentation.
  • Significant experience working in an office setting with autonomy and professionalism.
  • Experience in social media management with advanced proficiency in social media platforms such as Instagram Facebook and X.
  • Experience multitasking and prioritizing work demonstrating flexibility with the ability to quickly adapt to different situations
