Job Description:

Join Sun Life as a strategic business leader driving growth and operational excellence across our National Accounts business in Western Canada.

In this pivotal role youll lead a high-performing team strengthen key client and consultant partnerships and exceed financial targets while combining business acumen with people-centered leadership.

What will you do

Business & Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute the strategic business plan for National Accounts in the Western Region with emphasis on Alberta Saskatchewan and Manitoba

  • Collaborate with Business Development Leadership to achieve targeted financial outcomes and drive sustainable growth

  • Establish and implement best practices processes and procedures that enhance organizational effectiveness

Relationship Management & Growth

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with key consultants advisors plan sponsors and internal stakeholders

  • Drive new business development client expansion and net sales while maintaining profitability

  • Represent Sun Life at industry business and community events to strengthen brand presence and relationships

People & Culture Development

  • Lead mentor and develop diverse teams in high-performing environments

  • Foster a high-engagement culture that attracts top talent and drives accountability

  • Champion organizational change while building trust and psychological safety

External Engagement

  • Travel regionally as required to support client relationships and team presence

What do you need to Succeed

  • 5 years in the Group Benefits industry

  • 5 years in senior leadership roles managing teams

  • Post-secondary degree in a related field (or equivalent demonstrated experience)

  • CEBS designation (preferred)

  • Valid drivers license with willingness to travel

  • Proven ability to lead through change coach talent and build trust across diverse teams

  • Strong grasp of sales planning financial analysis and key business metrics

  • Skilled communicator with strong negotiation and influencing capabilities

  • Deep knowledge of group benefits products services and market dynamics

  • Unwavering commitment to business ethics governance and customer-first principles

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other addition to Base Pay eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
