The Technology & Infrastructure (T&I) team is the backbone and the future-forward arm of CBC/Radio-Canada. Our purpose is to constantly innovate to evolve and maintain the Corporations technologies and infrastructure enabling the creation and continued delivery of quality content across all platforms. Your role

Reporting to the Executive Vice-President of T&I the Executive Director Media Operations English Services defines and oversees all technological operations related to CBCs content and production.

You will ensure that all technologies facilities and multidisciplinary teams effectively support CBCs editorial cultural and strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Execution: Develop the technological and operational strategy in alignment with the English Services strategic plan and lead its execution.

  • Technology Ambassador: Act as the primary tech liaison for CBC leadership; understand directions and priorities translate needs into solutions and ensure realignment as required.

  • Stakeholder Management: Represent T&I within CBCs senior management to align expectations and deliverables.

  • Unifying Leadership: Lead multidisciplinary teams across maintenance broadcasting support engineering and user support to meet CBCs business goals.

  • Operational Excellence: Ensure high-level performance in a demanding 24/7 environment through proactive risk management incident reduction signal reliability and seamless operations.

  • Enhance the internal user experiencespecifically for news studio production and broadcast teamsto meet top-tier standards. Foster effective collaboration and communication between the T&I organization and its communities of users and partners.

  • Risk Management & Governance: Lead risk assessment processes and establish clear governance for priorities incidents and investments.

  • Performance & Continuous Improvement: Manage performance by establishing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and continuous improvement programs to ensure the organization delivers maximum value to the business.

  • Strengthen collaboration between French and English services by sharing standards best practices and common strategic trajectories.

  • Ensure sound management of human financial and material resources.

To excel in this role you must possess the following:

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field and/or equivalent experience.

  • A minimum of 10 years in a strategic leadership role.

  • A recognized expert in technology strategies within a large-scale organization.

  • An exceptional communicator capable of building trust with diverse stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to navigate complex environments requiring cross-functional teamwork.

  • Passionate rigorous and deeply committed to excellence.

  • Bilingual in English and French (spoken and written).

  • Knowledge of a unionized environment (an asset).

  • Ability to thrive and grow within a changing and complex environment.

  • Highly proficient in planning and project management.

  • Proven track record of managing multidisciplinary teams.
