DescriptionThe Bull Haul Captain will lead a team of volunteers helping residents move into residence halls on Grand Opening Day (August 20 2026). They will also manage cart check-out in the days prior to and following Grand Opening. They are responsible for coordinating the move-in efforts of the volunteers and working under the direction of the Bull Haul leadership team. Captains may be called on to assist with problems students or families have or to assist their Bull Haul crew members at any time.

ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties
- Lead a team of student volunteers to help residents move into residence halls
- Motivate a large team of student volunteers
- Participate in Bull Haul Training
- Assist with volunteer check-in
- Assist with cart check-out
- Aid in distributing materials to volunteers
- Provide excellent customer service for all guests
- Adapt to new roles and responsibilities
- Take on other duties as needed
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
Currently enrolled USF student.
Preferred Qualifications:
Available to work the following days and times:
- August 13 14 and 19 (times TBD)
- August 20 from 7 a.m. - 6 p.m.
- Various other cart checkout shifts between August 16 and 23
- Physically capable of lifting student belongings/utilizing carts to transport them and navigating the residential facilities during work day
- Perform tasks promptly and professionally
- Be willing to share goals and interests to tailor the experience to meet both your needs and those of the department
- Previous experience as a Bull Haul volunteer is a plus
- Excellent oral communication skills with ability to engage others in conversation
- Positive attitude and willingness to help
- Physically capable of lifting student belongings/utilizing carts to transport them and navigating the residential facilities during 8-hour work day
- Strong customer service & interpersonal skills enhancing the ability to work effectively with diverse populations of students and families
- Ability to problem solve manage conflict and remain flexible under pressure
