Position Summary

The Team Lead Production coordinates employees within a manufacturing group. Ensures adherence to production schedules and quality expectations to achieve daily and monthly production and financial targets. Reviews work orders product specifications technical instructions. Initiates and follows up to completion on facility requests tool requisition equipment downtime and supplies for the production area. Coordinates labor and equipment resource allocation based on production plan. Reviews and compiles operations records such as daily production first pass yield scrap down time and corrective actions.

Measures of success:

  • Meets or exceeds daily production requirements against attainment target
  • Ensures inventory transaction accuracy against job requirements
  • Meets all quality requirements as documented
  • Adherence to daily punch practices for direct labor employees

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate materials machines and personnel resources to meet daily production targets.
  • Provide materials to the cell as needed.
  • Schedule jobs perform inventory checks and weekly cycle counts to ensure all materials are available.
  • Rearrange personnel to ensure work flow while maintaining departmental cleanliness and safety standards
  • Resolve daily issues preventing the achievement of goals thru close interaction with the warehouse planners and engineering teams
  • Audit all jobs that enter the packing area to ensure they meet expectations before they are shipped to a customer
  • Modify the production schedule to overcome material shortages or Bill of Material issues. Communicates with planners and supervisor of the schedule change and its impact
  • Walk through all cells to ensure that personnel are working on the correct jobs and following MPS instructions
  • Ensures that all operators have safety equipment in place
  • Troubleshoots equipment and outsources the problem if necessary Troubleshoot Equipment
  • Ensure production boards are correctly scanned throughout the day while addressing and correcting the issues leading to cell downtime
  • Communicates within the department and between shifts in order to ensure that the department runs efficient.
  • Manages production spreadsheets to pass along to the next shift as well as tracks daily production volume and production schedule.
  • Attends daily production meetings to convey all issues impacting schedule achievement state corrective actions taken and follow up with stakeholders on actions impacting the area.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of production experience
  • Ability to navigate multiple windows in company Enterprise Resource Program (ERP) system to access production and resource data
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and effectively apply to assigned work
  • Ability to perform repetitive work requiring constant alertness or activity and including standing and lifting
  • Ability to manage time effectively to meet strict time deadlines and production volumes
  • Requires judgment to comply with instructions prescribed routines methods and practices
  • Minimal to no travel

Preferred:

  • Associates degree from two-year college or technical school
  • 4 years of production experience
  • 1 year of leading a team
  • Len 5S Certification
  • Experience and/or license to operate a forklift
  • Knowledge of Epicor ERP and PowerBI

Work Environment

This position works primarily in a production floor environment where large equipment and noise are prevalent. Safety gear is required in these areas.

This position reports into the site every day.

This position has no direct reports.
