12 Month Contract With A Local Authority
Job Purpose
To lead the planning development and delivery of green space improvement projectsspecifically splashpadsensuring they are completed on time within budget and to high quality standards.
The role focuses on enhancing community spaces by working closely with residents stakeholders and partners while ensuring compliance with project management procurement and health & safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver 3 splashpad projects (2 new 1 replacement) from concept to completion
- Manage planning design procurement and construction stages
- Apply project management principles (e.g. PRINCE2)
- Prepare tender documents and manage procurement processes
- Evaluate contractor bids and oversee contracts
- Monitor and manage capital budgets to ensure value for money
- Work with residents councillors and community groups
- Gather feedback and incorporate it into project designs
- Build partnerships to support green space development
- Contribute to the Green Spaces Service Delivery Plan
- Support the Green Spaces Manager with advice and reporting
- Promote green space initiatives through events and communications
- Ensure compliance with health & safety legal and council policies
- Attend meetings and represent the service when required
- Collaborate with internal teams and external organisations
Requirements
- PRINCE2 Project Management qualification (Essential)
- Degree in a relevant field (e.g. Project Management Landscape or similar) (Desirable)
- Project management experience (public or private sector)
- Experience delivering green space or play facility projects
- Managing capital budgets
- Handling deadlines competing priorities and changing circumstances
- Writing reports and presenting information
- Working with communities and stakeholders (Desirable)
