Quantity Surveyor North Dublin
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee cost management across a range of curtain walling and glazing projects.
- Engage early in project lifecycles collaborating with and advising the tendering team.
- Review contract terms and negotiate commercially acceptable agreements with clients.
- Prepare initial budgets cost plans and cash flow forecasts.
- Conduct risk assessments value engineering and cost control activities.
- Procure and allocate subcontract work packages.
- Manage subcontract procurement including drafting and issuing contract documentation.
- Administer subcontract packages through to final account agreement.
- Identify and manage commercial risks developing appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Lead negotiations to ensure projects remain within budget.
- Prepare and advise on contractual claims.
- Produce interim valuations and final accounts to assess completed works.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of the Construction Contracts Act 2013 (CCA 2013).
- Build expertise in contract conditions and maintain awareness of industry-standard contracts.
- Attend and contribute to meetings with clients design teams and subcontractors.
- Work closely with site management on day-to-day project matters.
- Ensure timely submission of Progress Claim Notices (interim valuations).
- Coordinate with project surveyors to ensure prompt valuation responses and adherence to CCA 2013 timelines.
- Liaise with project surveyors to ensure timely processing of payments.
Key Skills & Experience
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (or equivalent).
- 35 years experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in MS Word Excel Outlook Buildsoft CostX and Bluebeam.
- Experience managing or mentoring team members.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Motivated proactive and results-driven.
- Industry knowledge of curtain walling or commercial glazing is desirable.
