Job Summary

Job Title: Curriculum & Instruction Coordinator


Exemption Status/Test:Exempt / Administrator in an Educational Establishment
Reports to:Chief Academic Officer (CAO)
Date Revised:3/25/26

Primary Purpose:

Provide leadership coordination and continuous improvement of curriculum and instruction across the campus. Support teachers and instructional leaders through coaching modeling and professional development aligned to research-based instructional strategies (RBIS) adopted curriculum programs and effective classroom management practices. Ensure alignment fidelity and effectiveness of instructional systems to drive student achievement outcomes.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

  • Masters degree preferred.

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Deep knowledge of research-based instructional strategies (RBIS)
  • Strong understanding of curriculum design alignment and assessment practices
  • Ability to coach and develop adult learners
  • Experience with instructional data analysis and progress monitoring
  • Excellent organizational communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead initiatives and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Working knowledge of curriculum platforms

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years successful teaching experience
  • Experience in instructional coaching curriculum development or campus leadership preferred

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Instructional Leadership & Coaching

  1. Coach train and support teachers in the lesson internalization process and LPS instructional model
  2. Coach train and support teachers in the implementation of research-based instructional strategies (RBIS)
  3. Model effective instructional practices and classroom management techniques for teachers
  4. Support teachers in implementing all adopted instructional and curriculum programs with fidelity
  5. Assist in planning and implementing professional growth programs as needed/requested
  6. Develop and deliver high-quality professional development to increase instructional effectiveness

Curriculum & Program Management

  1. Provide leadership in identifying evaluating and selecting instructional programs
  2. Facilitate alignment of campus and district curriculum including creation and revision of unit assessments in Aware
  3. Collaborate with instructional staff and campus/district leaders to evaluate and select instructional resources aligned to learning goals
  4. Manage and coordinate meetings with instructional staff and campus/district leaders as needed to ensure effective implementation of instructional programs
  5. Oversee implementation and continuous improvement of all curriculum systems and programs

Data & Continuous Improvement

  1. Analyze instructional data and evaluative findings to assess program effectiveness
  2. Support staff in using assessment data (including STAAR and EOC) to inform instructional decisions
  3. Lead continuous improvement cycles to strengthen curriculum and instructional outcomes

Collaboration & Systems Leadership

  1. Collaborate with instructional staff and leadership to design implement and evaluate campus instructional programs
  2. Facilitate Professional Learning Community (PLC) processes focused on instructional improvement
  3. Support alignment between campus and district instructional priorities

Operations & Coordination

  1. Coordinate accelerated instruction systems and supports
  2. Order curriculum manage delivery/receipt maintain inventory and oversee vendor contracts for instructional materials and services
  3. Compile maintain and file all required reports and documentation

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and evaluate the work of professional staff as assigned by the CAO
  • Provide direction and support to teachers and instructional staff as assigned

Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals

Posture:

Frequent sitting and standing; occasional bending/stooping pushing/pulling and twisting

Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 50 pounds)

Environment:

May work prolonged or irregular hours; work inside and outside (exposure to weather conditions and noise); frequent districtwide and statewide travel

Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress

Other:
