Job Description
Title: Assistant Attorney General
Unit: Utility Regulation
Salary Range: Commensurate with experience and qualifications
Location: Oklahoma City OK
Position Summary
The Office of Attorney Generals Utility Regulation Unit represents and protects the interests of the states utility customers in administrative and civil proceedings affecting utility rates charges and terms and conditions of service. The Attorney General is the States principal consumer advocate working to keep utility customers rate reasonable and affordable. The successful candidate will primarily advocate for utility customers in proceedings before the Oklahoma Corporation Commission including researching analyzing and presenting complex financial and legal information at trial and through briefing.
Essential Functions
Researching and reviewing complex data produced by sophisticated companies and subject matter experts
Prepare written recommendations based on research
Assist with discovery on various cases
Communicating with internal and external stakeholders
Providing assistance with litigation before the Corporation Commission or other venues
Work with in-house and out-of-house subject matter experts to develop recommendations
Minor travel is expected
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
A qualified candidate must be a licensed attorney in the State of Oklahoma or eligible to sit for the bar exam by summer 2026. Candidate must be comfortable with learning and practicing trial skills.
Excellent writing and oral communication skills;
Demonstrate strong efficient research and analytical skills;
Strong time management and organizational skills;
Capable of working concurrently on multiple projects;
Precision in attention to detail;
Ability to work independently and collaboratively; and
Commitment to being client-focused and responsive to the client.
