The Opportunity
As a Senior Project Engineer/Manager acting as nominated Programme Manager for Building Services you will be accountable for delivering the companys Rising Mains Programme. This includes the repair and reinstatement of supplies on the Rising Main infrastructure within residential buildings across both Company licence areas. You will lead all programme level activities required to implement the standard rising mains replacement specification on a project by project basis.
Programme Management responsibilities & duties will involve:
Lead the delivery of the Company rising mains capital works programme ensuring completion to agreed time cost and quality standards.
Prepare coordinate and maintain the overall programme plan.
Monitor progress update resource plans and report on programme performance.
Provide weekly and monthly progress updates to the Company Rising Mains Project Lead.
Produce accurate spend profiles and financial forecasts.
Contractor & Procurement Oversight responsibilities & duties will involve:
Review tender returns and support the appointment of contractors.
Assess contractor proposals including firm price submissions and lead post tender negotiations.
Issue work packages to successful contractors.
Review works on site including attending site meetings and monitoring contractor performance.
Sign off completed works and review contractor O&M documentation.
Compliance & Governance responsibilities & duties will involve:
Ensure full compliance with CDM Regulations and company safety policies.
Conduct safety audits and promote a strong safety culture.
Ensure adherence to company PRC 200 process management requirements.
Maintain compliance with Guaranteed Standards throughout programme delivery.
Stakeholder Engagement responsibilities & duties will include:
Interface effectively with internal service providers to support programme delivery.
Liaise with external organisations outside of the Company including DECC Housing Associations Local Authorities other utilities and NGET.
Qualifications :
Knowledge & Qualifications
Proven track record in the electricity distribution and/or transmission industry delivering Project Engineer activities with typically 10 years experience.
Strong technical knowledge across all distribution asset classes (cables overhead lines substations and civils) with the competence to take responsibility for works from LV up to and including 132kV.
Demonstrable experience managing both major projects and high-volume workstreams including responsibility for projects typically valued in excess of 5m.
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred; HNC or equivalent qualifications will also be considered.
NEBOSH or equivalent qualification in safety management.
Experience working on CDM notifiable projects.

This is a hybrid role involving a blend of home working time spent at Client offices and Omnia Projects offices and regular site visits across the North East region.
