Job Summary
Progesys Inc. is a recognized firm offering complete solutions for project management and transition to operations. The company has been based in Laval (Canada) since 2002 and has offices in the United States the Middle East Asia and in South America.
Progesys is looking a Construction Coordinator to support a major industrial project. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of construction activities by coordinating efforts between the field contractors and project stakeholders.
The Construction Coordinator acts as a key point of contact on site ensuring that construction work progresses safely efficiently and in alignment with project specifications schedules and budgets.
Key Responsibilities :
- Coordinate and oversee daily construction activities on site
- Act as the liaison between contractors client representatives engineering and project management teams
- Monitor subcontractor performance to ensure compliance with project requirements safety standards and quality expectations
- Conduct regular site inspections and follow up on progress issues and corrective actions
- Facilitate and lead weekly progress meetings documenting key updates and action items
- Track and update project schedules identifying potential delays and proposing mitigation strategies
- Support budget monitoring by tracking costs and reporting variances
- Review construction methods material availability and system requirements to optimize execution
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with applicable codes standards and project specifications
- Identify risks and provide proactive recommendations to maintain project timelines and quality
Qualifications & Requirements :
- Bachelors degree in Engineering Construction Management or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction coordination or site supervision preferably on industrial or large-scale projects
- Strong understanding of construction processes scheduling and site operations
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proactive solution-oriented mindset with the ability to manage priorities effectively
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g. MS Project Excel or similar) is an asset
