Location: Cincinnati OH 45219
Job Type: Contract (8 Weeks with strong potential for extension)
Schedule: Full-Time Night Shift 5 Shifts per Week
Weekly Hours: 40 Hours
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join a Cardiovascular Step-Down Unit (CVSU). This 32-bed progressive care unit specializes in caring for patients recovering from cardiothoracic surgeries and interventional cardiology procedures.
The RN will deliver high-quality patient-centered care while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess plan implement and evaluate patient care in accordance with established nursing standards
- Monitor and manage cardiac patients including those with LVADs valve replacements and post-STEMI conditions
- Interpret cardiac rhythms and manage arrhythmias
- Titrate IV medications and assist with conscious sedation procedures
- Perform advanced clinical procedures such as chest tube removal and femoral arterial line removal
- Utilize point-of-care testing tools (ACT iSTAT)
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
- Communicate effectively with patients families and healthcare team members
- Provide individualized patient and family education
- Adhere to professional nursing standards and state practice regulations
Required Qualifications
- Strong clinical knowledge in cardiac and progressive care nursing
- Ability to deliver culturally competent patient-centered care
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Adaptability in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
Education
- Required: Nursing Diploma
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Licensure & Certifications
- Active RN License (Ohio or Compact State)
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
Experience Requirements
- Required: Prior experience in a Cardiovascular Step-Down Unit (CVSU)
- Preferred: Cardiothoracic post-surgical experience
- Proficiency in ECG interpretation and advanced cardiac monitoring
- Familiarity with progressive care nursing guidelines
