Position Summary
We are seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg) experience to provide direct patient care in a fast-paced acute care hospital setting. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical assessment skills medication administration expertise and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg) unit
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and ongoing clinical monitoring
- Administer medications IV therapy and treatments in accordance with physician orders
- Develop implement and evaluate individualized nursing care plans
- Perform wound care management and post-operative patient care
- Monitor vital signs laboratory results and patient response to treatment
- Collaborate with physicians case managers and interdisciplinary care teams
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis treatment plans and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies patient safety standards and regulatory guidelines
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Compact RN license accepted)
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience in an acute care setting
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Experience using EMR/EHR systems (Epic Cerner or similar)
- Experience in post-surgical telemetry or step-down units
