- Weekly Gross: Approximately $3000
- Weekly Stipend: $2415
Schedule
- Shift: 8:00 AM 8:00 PM
- Guaranteed Hours: 34.5 hours/week
Job Summary
The MRI Technologist is responsible for operating specialized imaging equipment to perform high-quality magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures. This role requires strong technical expertise attention to detail and the ability to ensure patient safety while producing diagnostic-quality images in accordance with established protocols.
Responsibilities
- Perform MRI procedures in accordance with established protocols
- Position patients and coils to obtain optimal imaging results
- Educate patients regarding MRI procedures and safety requirements
- Review patient safety questionnaires prior to MRI procedures
- Ensure all images are properly labeled and transmitted to PACS
- Evaluate images for technical quality and diagnostic usability
- Maintain accurate documentation in Radiology Information Systems (RIS/IDX)
- Schedule exams and manage patient imaging records as required
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of MRI suite and equipment
- Monitor inventory of supplies and ensure availability of necessary materials
- Identify and report equipment issues or unsafe conditions
- Assist physicians during procedures when required
- Adhere to MRI safety standards including prevention of ferromagnetic exposure
- Follow infection control protocols to ensure patient and staff safety
- Participate in in-services and ongoing professional development
- Perform clerical duties as needed in the absence of support staff
Required Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy MRI physics and physical sciences
- Excellent technical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to ensure patient safety and deliver high-quality imaging services
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of MRI experience
- Experience working in a hospital or high-volume imaging environment
Key Skills
- MRI imaging and protocol execution
- Patient positioning and safety screening
- Image evaluation and quality control
- Knowledge of PACS and Radiology Information Systems (RIS/IDX)
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
