Office of Communications & Media Mission Statement:
The Communications and Media division mission is to coordinate a comprehensive effort to inform the public of the directors goals plans and activities through various media outlets.
The Ohio Department of Insurance (ODI) is seeking a Social Media Coordinator to be part of its Communications Team.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate impeccable attention to detail and have advanced knowledge of major social media platforms. Proficiency in in creative software such as Adobe Canva InDesign and web content management. Hands-on experience with social media scheduling tools like Meltwater and Hootsuite. Extensive photo and video creation and editing experience is a plus.
What Youll Do:
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Develop and execute a comprehensive social media marketing plan that aligns with the agencys overall communications strategy.
Design and produce engaging written and graphic content to grow the agencys presence across all social media channels.
Partner with agency staff and various divisions to brainstorm campaign ideas and provide independent social media support.
Fact-check all posts with subject-matter experts to ensure technical accuracy and maintain brand consistency.
Monitor social media trends and analyze performance metrics to adjust strategies and meet agency goals.
Manage social media engagement under the direction of the Communications Director and in tandem with the broader communications team.
Assists in the maintenance of internet and intranet websites.
Advises and consults with the communications director and other communication team members with all necessary information pertaining to activities outreach efforts.
Attends and participates in events (e.g. state fair).
Completion of undergraduate core program in Communications Marketing Public Relations Journalism Digital Media or related field. 2 years of experience in social media management digital marketing or content production. Experience developing and executing data-driven social media strategies that align with broader organizational goals. Demonstrated success in creating engaging graphic and video content across multiple platforms (Facebook Instagram LinkedIn etc.).
