Description:Reports To:Summer Camps Site Coordinator
Position Purpose:
Academic/Enrichment Summer Camps teachers will provide students with opportunities to participate in a variety of enrichment and academic activities using small group hands-on and project-based learning approaches. Teaching opportunities are available with elementary and middle school students.
Qualifications:
Candidates should hold a valid Kansas teaching certificate in education.
Candidates are to be current employees of Topeka Public Schools USD 501.
Applicants with previous Summer Enrichment/Academic experience will be given preference.
Physical and Emotional Requirements:Speaking hearing visual reading writing word processing mobility consistency of temperament ability to problem-solve and work in stress providing environments.
Performance Responsibilities:
Provide a fun learning environment for students.
Conduct differentiated small group instruction when necessary.
Develop and implement a student-centered project-based learning approach.
Provide student supervision in and out of the classroom as needed.
Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
Terms of Employment:
Summer hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m Monday-Thursday.
Summer Camps will run from June 1-25 2026.
