Location:Locust Valley NY
Residency:Live-out / Live-in 3 nights/week
Days/Hours:Saturday through Wednesday with overnights on Sundays Mondays and Tuesdays; Hours will vary; Saturdays you will live out while the family is in residence and hours may look like 9:00/9:30 AM to about 5:30 PM; Sunday through Wednesday you will live-in and have full responsibility for the dogs so hours may be a little longer depending on where the family is and whether the dogs are there; hours may look like 6:00 AM to about 8:00 PM with breaks. The idea is that when the dogs are there and the family is not the dogs are the main priority. This can be discussed as candidates apply to learn more. Candidate will have Thursday and Friday off.
Overnights Required:3 nights per week on-site at the residence; primary responsibility for the dogs on those evenings (Sunday through Tuesday evenings)
Vehicle Provided:Toyota RAV4 (employer covers insurance & all work-related fuel)

Role Overview:
We are seeking an exceptional House Manager to take overall responsibility for the seamless day-today running of a private residence in Locust Valley Long Island. This is ahands-on leadership role suited to a highly organized calm and physically capable individual who thrives in a dynamic private household environment.The successful candidate will bringgenuine warmth and passion for the role most importantlyan absolute love of dogs alongside theadministrative discipline and people skills to manage a team and maintain impeccable household standards.
Overview of the Family Schedule:The familys primary residence is in Manhattan and they travel to their Locust Valley residence most weekends during the school year and typically spend Friday through Sunday evening in the home. This requires assistance with the care of their 4 dogs. When the family leaves to return to Manhattan they typically leave the dogs in Locust Valley until Wednesday when their driver comes to take them back to Manhattan so the House Manager would stay until Wednesday and had off the dogs to the the summer they travel more so the schedule with the dogs will adjust based on where the family is.
Key Responsibilities
Household Operations
Oversee and coordinate the smooth daily running of the residence
Maintain the property to the highest standards at all times ensuring all areas are impeccable
Manage vendor and contractor relationships: scheduling quality control and invoice approval
Liaise closely with the principal on all household matters priorities and projects
Assist across departmental roles as required a genuinely hands-on team player
Dog Care Essential Duty
Primary responsibility for the dogs for 3 nights per week while residing at the home feeding settling and morning care
Feeding exercising and caring for the household dogs with genuine affection and confidence
Coordinating veterinary appointments grooming and any specialist care requirements
Team Leadership
Manage motivate and coordinate the wider household team across all departments
Set clear expectations schedules and standards for household staff
Lead by example stepping in directly to assist across departmental tasks when needed
Support recruitment onboarding and performance management of household staff
Administration & Finance
Maintain comprehensive household records schedules and inventories using Microsoft Office
Prepare and manage household budgets expenditure tracking and purchase orders in Excel
Draft correspondence managing household calendars and co-ordinate vendor communications
Handle petty cash expense reconciliation and timely payment of household invoices
Hospitality & Events
Ensure the residence is prepared to the highest standard for guests and private entertainment
Coordinate catering staffing and logistics for private events at the property
Oversee guest arrivals departures and all associated hospitality arrangements
Ideal Candidate Profile
Essential
Absolute love of dogs must have personally owned a dog at some point in their life
Willingness to reside on-site at the property for 3 nights per week
Physically fit and able this is a hands-on active role
Calm under pressure with a composed professional demeanor at all times
Strong work ethic with a proactive solutions-oriented attitude
Lateral thinker able to anticipate needs and solve problems resourcefully
Strong administrative skills with exceptional attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Office particularly Excel (budgeting tracking reporting)
Valid US work authorization
Highly Desirable
Background in the super yacht or luxury private yacht industry
Experience in luxury hospitality (5-star hotel resort or private club) or estate management
Proven team management experience in a private household or luxury service environment
Strong hospitality instinct with a natural eye for service standards and presentation
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary: $150-170K Annually commensurate with experience; competitive for the right candidate
