Position Summary
The facility is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible General Neurosurgeon to join its growing neurosurgery program in Dothan Alabama.
This role includes a mix of inpatient and outpatient responsibilities with a focus on evaluating and surgically treating a wide range of neurological conditions. The neurosurgeon will work closely with neurologists intensivists trauma teams and other specialists in a collaborative high-acuity environment.
The group is open to 2026 Neurosurgery residents/fellows as well as experienced neurosurgeons.
Essential Position Responsibilities
- Evaluate diagnose and surgically treat disorders of the brain spine and nervous system
- Perform a range of neurosurgical procedures including cranial and spinal surgeries
- Manage traumatic brain injuries spinal disorders tumors and degenerative conditions
- Provide inpatient consultations surgical care and post-operative management
- Participate in on-call coverage for neurosurgical emergencies
- Collaborate with neurology trauma ICU and rehabilitation teams for comprehensive care
- Review and interpret diagnostic imaging including CT MRI and other studies
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives and clinical best practices
Qualifications
Education
- M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical school
- Completion of a Neurosurgery residency
Licensure & Certification
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurosurgery
- Eligible for or holding an active Alabama medical license
- Current BLS/ACLS required
Experience
- Open to 2026 graduating residents/fellows
- Experienced neurosurgeons also encouraged to apply
