Position Summary

The facility is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible General Neurosurgeon to join its growing neurosurgery program in Dothan Alabama.

This role includes a mix of inpatient and outpatient responsibilities with a focus on evaluating and surgically treating a wide range of neurological conditions. The neurosurgeon will work closely with neurologists intensivists trauma teams and other specialists in a collaborative high-acuity environment.

The group is open to 2026 Neurosurgery residents/fellows as well as experienced neurosurgeons.

Essential Position Responsibilities

  • Evaluate diagnose and surgically treat disorders of the brain spine and nervous system
  • Perform a range of neurosurgical procedures including cranial and spinal surgeries
  • Manage traumatic brain injuries spinal disorders tumors and degenerative conditions
  • Provide inpatient consultations surgical care and post-operative management
  • Participate in on-call coverage for neurosurgical emergencies
  • Collaborate with neurology trauma ICU and rehabilitation teams for comprehensive care
  • Review and interpret diagnostic imaging including CT MRI and other studies
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives and clinical best practices

Qualifications

Education

  • M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of a Neurosurgery residency

Licensure & Certification

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurosurgery
  • Eligible for or holding an active Alabama medical license
  • Current BLS/ACLS required

Experience

  • Open to 2026 graduating residents/fellows
  • Experienced neurosurgeons also encouraged to apply
