Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

TeHerenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Mata Ahupae - Administrator - Operations to join Te Wāhanga a Manaia - Faculty of Science and Engineering on a permanent full-time basis.

The role is located within Te Kura Mātai Tatauranga - School of Mathematics and Statistics (SMS). The role will help the Te Kura Mātai Tatauranga - School of Mathematics and Statistics (SMS) and Te Kura Mātai Pūkaha Pūrorohiko - School of Engineering and Computer Science (ECS) achieve its goals by providing high level and timely operational and administration support.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide operational and administrative assistance to the Pou Hautū - School Manager and Tumuaki - Head of School including front-line School Committees and meeting support.
  • Assist with enquiries and provide accurate advice and information to staff and students.
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment by providing flexible support to administration team to ensure continuity of services across the Schools and Faculty.
  • Assist with communications schools and faculty engagement activities.

You will be a motivated customer-focused individual who can take the initiative provide excellent administration can juggle multiple priorities and enjoy being a part of a collaborative team in a people-facing academic environment. You take pride in delivering high quality service providing accurate and professional support and building positive working relationship with students staff and stakeholders.

Key requirements:

  • Demonstrate experience in administrative roles.
  • Excellent written and communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly professionally and appropriately with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong organisation skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks use initiative and prioritise effectively to meet deadlines in a demanding environment with excellent attention to detail.
  • A commitment to work in ways that promote the Treaty of Waitangi.
