Job Purpose
The Regional Security Manageroversees the safety and security of employees assets and operations across the AIG Japan portfolio.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead a team of security specialists (current headcount is 4) who are responsible for physical access provisioning guard force oversight vendor engagement security projects compliance with corporate policy and local regulatory requirements and security incident response.
- This role requires a strong leadership presence the ability to communicate effectively and a win together attitude.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Risk Mitigation anticipate and mitigate safety and security risks in Japan; maintain regional awareness and communicate material changes to the socio/economic/political climate that may impact business operations with key leaders in Japan and Global Security leadership.
- Governance / Compliance ensure the adoption and integration of global standards processes and technology; conduct physical security assessments and ensure deficiencies are remediated promptly.
- Security Technology - security equipment installations and equipment performance oversee complex security equipment projects to install / upgrade the enterprise access control and security video systems; ensure budgets are accurate and projects are completed on time; select equipment / layouts that are fit for purpose and in line with standards; ensure equipment is operating as designed and limit downtime.
- Communications / Partnership / Information Sharing
- Establish and maintain relationships and informational sharing amongst local and global AIG management; quickly grasp how Global Security can best support the business and provide updates to Japan leaders that are beneficial and timed appropriately; demonstrate value.
- Serve as the subject matter expect regarding Japanese laws and practices affecting security operations.
- Security Incident Management - provide security guidance to Japan senior leaders and the Incident Management Team in support of crisis/incident management risk intelligence / mitigation; forward looking approach to crisis planning / response and close coordination with the Enterprise Resiliency Department (i.e. business continuity and disaster recovery teams).
- Investigations - conduct investigations related to theft employee concerns workplace violence / harassment; analyze incident / investigative trends throughout Japan to reduce the occurrence and impact of future losses employee concerns incidents.
- Employee Training and Traveler Support - general security awareness and workplace violence training; reconnaissance advice on the ground support for high-risk destinations and / or VIP travelers.
- Event Security / Executive Protection - conduct research and analysis ahead of large-scale AIG conferences / events international events elevated threat travel and Executive Committee (EC) traveler support.
- Manned Guarding and Reception proper oversight training and processes are adhered to in offices where AIG has contracted security officers and receptionists.

Required Skills and Experiences
Educational Qualification
- Not required however college degree is preferred.
Specific Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience as a skilled leader
- Management experience
- Change management
- Stakeholder management (Internal External)
- Regional Security Manager (or similar role) in a similarly complex company
- Language Proficiency: Japanese and English capabilities are highly important.
Total Experience
- 10 years in corporate security compliance business continuity resiliency or risk management roles
