Role description:

The Product Owner (Sales) collaborates closely with the Global Product Director Sales other Product Owners the BPO team Super Key Users and the Tech teams to deliver Sales product development and Continuous Improvement (CI) solutions that enhance the performance of Sales products including but not limited to CRM and the Document Storage system.

  • Role placement: The role sits under the Global Product Director Sales. It is accountable for one or more product(s) that enable the end-to-end business processes and needs articulated by the Sales function. It represents the voice of Sales translating their needs to the Tech team and managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Accountability: Owns product value outcomes and prioritization; act as the final decision-maker on product scope and prioritization in alignment with strategic objectives business stakeholders and Global Product Director Sales.
  • Scope and support: The role and its activities are supported by a range of services including the GSSC S&A / LSS teams UI/UX designers and Solution Managers.

Role accountabilities:

Individual accountabilities

Primary focus

  • Own product ownership and CI for assigned product(s): define Sales needs build backlog and maximize value.
  • Manage a CI calendar prioritize CI items and deliver end-to-end CI initiatives within the Agile team.
  • Translate Sales roadmap into well-defined user stories and acceptance criteria; confirm completion with end-user feedback.

Delivery and alignment

  • Align process changes across global/local functions; make scope and trade-off decisions to meet Sales commitments.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and support the team.
  • Maintain product documentation release notes and post-launch measurement of outcomes.

Primary liaison and influence

  • Ensure Tech understands the vision and how work aligns with Sales goals; represent Sales voice to Tech.
  • Engage SMEs and user groups to uncover jobs-to-be-done and problems via discovery.
  • Act as CI ambassador and primary contact for CI questions.

Outcome focus

  • Deliver end-to-end with measurable value; ensure traceability from roadmap to released features.

Key shared accountabilities

GoLive

  • Support GoLive activities as needed (Tech leads execution; PO provides coordination and stakeholder support).

Maintenance & Updates

  • Support maintaining business process documentation and repositories: AIMS SharePoint guidance docs Wiki; ensure global alignment and translations.
  • Oversee routine data quality reviews using available dashboards and drive remediation actions.

Engagement & Adoption

  • Act as product advocate with end users and stakeholders; champion features and value.
  • Engage user groups to validate functionality and gather feedback.

  • Communicate planned features and functional needs to the sales team in line with Sales product strategy.

  • Collaborate with crossfunctional stakeholders when product spans multiple functions.

  • Support change leaders key users and Sales leaders to drive adoption and organise the keyuser community to ensure adequate enduser support.

    Decision rights

    Owns:

    • Backlog & scope: Decide which product/CI items enter the backlog and their priority order.
    • Acceptance & release: Approve acceptance criteria and sign off releases meet Sales requirements.

    Influences:

    • Sales CI product vision strategy and roadmap under the guidance of the Global Product Director Sales.
    • Align cross-functional priorities and trade-offs to support the CI strategy.
    • Shape adoption approaches and training plans in collaboration with GSSC and Change teams.

Qualifications & Experience:

The ideal candidate holds a bachelors or masters degree (or equivalent) and preferably has product owner experience in an international product development environment. They should be able to demonstrate practical experience with Scrum and a strong understanding of Agile principles and practices or significant experience in Sales process management and related best practices. A Product Owner certification (CSPO PSPO POPM) is highly desirable or you should be willing to undertake the relevant training.

  • Strategic product leadership: Translates Sales strategy into clear product vision roadmaps and compelling value propositions or investment cases that drive measurable outcomes.
  • Agile delivery & multi-project management: Expert in Scrum and Agile practices able to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent initiatives while owning backlog CI calendar and end to end delivery.
  • Stakeholder consulting & influence: Strong consulting mindset and stakeholder managementasks the right questions builds consensus negotiates tradeoffs and aligns cross functional priorities.
  • Team motivation & collaboration: Inspires and motivates cross functional development teams fosters a collaborative solutions-oriented culture and supports high performance delivery.
  • Customer Centric & data driven: Skilled in user discovery and translating feedback into high value user stories; uses metrics and dashboards to validate investments and steer prioritization.
  • Clear communicator & presenter: Conveys technical details simply to non-technical audiences crafts effective presentations and produces concise documentation and release communications. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Energetic pragmatic executor: Enthusiastic resilient and results drivenpractical problem solver who delivers while balancing scope risk and stakeholder needs.
