Job Summary
The Medical Technologist (MT/MLS) Chemistry & Clinical Laboratory performs complex laboratory testing and analysis in a high-volume hospital setting. This role requires strong expertise in chemistry hematology differentials and handling complex specimens while ensuring accuracy and efficiency in patient diagnostics.
Key Responsibilities
Laboratory Testing
- Perform clinical laboratory testing with a focus on chemistry
- Conduct manual and automated differentials with high accuracy
- Analyze and interpret test results and ensure quality standards
Specialized Lab Work
- Handle complex specimens including turbid samples platelet clumps and abnormal cell findings
- Utilize advanced laboratory systems such as Sysmex and CellaVision
- Support neonatal and high-acuity patient populations
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with laboratory protocols and regulatory standards
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of results
- Follow safety and infection control procedures
Collaboration
- Work efficiently within a fast-paced high-volume laboratory
- Communicate effectively with laboratory and clinical teams
Required Qualifications
- Certification: ASCP AMT or AAB
- Minimum 2 years of experience within specialty
- Strong experience in chemistry laboratory testing
- Experience performing manual differentials
Required Experience
- Experience working in a large hospital laboratory environment (high-volume setting preferred)
- Hands-on experience with:
- Sysmex systems
- CellaVision systems
