Overview
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology Test & Evaluation Program Mission Support Engineering & Analysis and Training.
Responsibilities
- Performs research and engineering laboratory functions involving the testing analysis and evaluation of materials and processes.
- Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.
- Analyzes technical data to determine applicability to design problems; selects from several possible design layouts; calculates design data; and prepares layouts detailed specifications parts lists estimates procedures etc.
- Gathers maintains formats compiles and manipulates technical data such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes.
- Produces engineering documentation reports drawings (flow charts block diagrams and schematics).
- Assembles electrical and electronic systems and prototypes according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles using hand tools and measuring instruments.
- Sets up and operates test equipment to evaluate performance of developmental parts assemblies or systems under simulated operating conditions and records results.
- Conducts pierside alteration installation and removals onboard US naval vessels.
- Effectively interface with engineering operational and fleet personnel at all levels.
Qualifications
- High School diploma and 6 (six) years of related technical experience as an electrical electronic or mechanical technician in support of R&D or Test & Evaluation (T&E) of U.S. Naval systems
- U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance
- Able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance
- U.S. Navy Submarine Sonar experience
- Able to obtain qualification to support underway events
Pay Transparency Statement
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $77600.00/Yr. - USD $129600.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
