About the Role
The HVAC Technician is responsible for maintaining troubleshooting repairing and performing preventive maintenance on commercial and industrial HVAC and refrigeration systems throughout the manufacturing facility.
This is a hands-on role requiring strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills with responsibility for maintaining large-scale HVAC equipment including rooftop package units industrial refrigeration systems ammonia systems cooling towers compressors evaporators and gas-fired heating systems.
The HVAC Technician will diagnose equipment failures identify root causes complete repairs document maintenance activities using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and respond to emergency maintenance requests as needed. The role also supports general facility maintenance while ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) company safety standards and operational procedures.
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated problem solver who enjoys working independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where equipment reliability is essential to production success.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of commercial or industrial HVAC technician experience
High school diploma or GED
Technical training in HVAC technology
Refrigerant Certification required
EPA Universal Certification preferred
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Ability to troubleshoot HVAC electrical controls and mechanical systems
Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
Technical Experience
Hands-on experience maintaining and repairing:
Large rooftop HVAC package units
3050 ton R-22 refrigerant systems
Industrial ammonia refrigeration systems
Ammonia engine rooms
Gas-fired heating systems
Cooling towers
Compressors
Evaporators
