As a Finance Officer you will be a key player in the DG Corporate finance team within Financial Management and Reporting supporting monthly budget monitoring and reporting enabling senior leaders to make informed decisions based on timely and high-quality financial information and supporting the provision of professional advice on financial issues. Communication and effective stakeholder relationships are an essential aspect of the role with Finance Teams the link between business areas and the wider Corporate Reporting Division.

The post-holder will report to aB2AssistantFinance Manager and can be based in Edinburgh or Glasgow.



Responsibilities
Responsibilities
  • Support timelyandaccuratecompletion of budget monitoring and reporting exercises to provide robust information and explanations toassistmanagement decision making.
  • Review budgetmonitoringdata on the Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) system undertaking the first check of forecasts year to date actuals and budget data and ensuring that explanations make sense and support the figures.
  • Support Treasury and Cash Management deliverables.
  • Support provision of regular high quality financial information and analysis developing and using knowledge to review and challenge business returns.
  • Support monthly and ad-hoc financial exercises including ABR and SBR and provisional and final outturn.
  • Work with business areas to quality assure information on the ledger and support their input for the annual accounts ensuring that working papers provide a full audit trail and areretainedand easily accessible.
  • Support financial advice and assistance to stakeholders and engagewith colleagues across Financial Management Directorate business areas and bodies to build andmaintaineffective working relationships.
  • Engagewith the development of EPMandcontribute to how teammembersand stakeholdersimplementand use it effectively.
