Radio-Canada News is seeking a National Lineup Editor to prepare co-ordinate and oversee content for the Radio-Canada website and our other digital platforms (mobile app newsletter social media channels etc.).
In this role you will work closely with videojournalists across Lanaudière Montérégie and the North Shore of Montreal (Laval and the Laurentians). You will be responsible for vetting and publishing content while ensuring adherence to the Corporations Journalistic Standards and Practices (JSP).
As the ideal candidate you stay highly informed on regional national and international news. You are recognized for your sharp editorial judgment and impeccable French writing skills. You have a nose for news and a deep understanding of digital best practices to effectively engage target audiences and reach new audiences. Please note that this position requires flexibility for irregular or non-standard schedules.
This role requires full-time on-site presence.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree or equivalent.
Seven (7) years journalism experience or equivalent.
Skills:
Extensive general knowledge.
Deep understanding of current events and the local landscape in Montérégie Lanaudière Laval and the Laurentians.
Superior editorial judgment.
Proven ability to be creative in the presentation of news stories.
Advanced knowledge of digital trends and emerging formats.
Excellent command of French with a good working knowledge of English (an asset).
Proficiency with Radio-Canadas digital tools an asset.
Thorough knowledge of CBC/Radio-Canadas Journalistic Standards and Practices (JSP).
Strong grasp of newsroom logistics.
Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment under tight deadlines.
Confident positive leadership style.
Shortlisted candidates will be tested as follows:
Journalistic testing (general knowledge French grammar and writing test).
Interview.
