Summary
Adventure CourseGuides are essential to the WildPlay team providing excellent service for guestsparticipatingin aerial adventure courses and ziplines.Adventure CourseGuides are knowledgeable friendlypassionateand excellent atidentifyingdispositions and putting them at ease. Energized by outdoor environments they are physically active comfortable with heights and take satisfaction from supervising and helping others face challenges and push their boundaries.
To excel as a Guide you need to be able tothink fast on your feethave an outgoing and confident personalityanddemonstratesound judgement.Guides need to begood at listening andidentifyingthe needs of others andprovidingsoundadvice based on best practices. When necessaryGuides mustbe assertive to ensure guests minimize their risk whileparticipatingin activities. With outstanding communicationGuideswork effectively in an independent manner as well aspart of a team.
Responsibilities and Duties
TheAdventure CourseGuidesresponsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensuring guests enjoy safe positive and enriching experiences
- Demonstrating teaching andassistingguests in the use of safety equipmentand element use
- Ensuring theappropriate fit adjustments and use of equipment before and during activity
- Ensuring guests respect rules without compromise
- Monitoring elements for risk management; assessing and intervening when situations require
- Reportinganymalfunctions inconsistenciesincidentsor abnormalitiesaccordingly
- Maintaining a clean work environment with tasks including but not limited to cleaning sweeping mopping trash removal etc. as
- Participating indailyequipment and elementinspections anddailyequipment inspections
- Ensuring activity guidelines policies and procedures are respected
- Providing excellent customer service and guest engagement
- Passing on any positive or negative feedback from guests to the Leadership Team
- Being aware of environmental risks due to weather (heat snow ice rain wind lightning etc.)
- Takingappropriate actionsto manage risks (hydration element evacuation procedures signs of frostbite hypothermia hyperthermia heat stroke etc.)
- Carrying out other work as directed by Team Lead or Leadership Team
- Participating as a positive and proactive member of the WildPlay team
- Physical demands include continuously holdingcarryingand lifting equipment frequent walking/standing and frequent bending/twisting/kneeling

- Experience delivering great customer service
- Ability to consistently deliverhigh standardsof work in all weather conditions outdoors including extreme heat sun humidity and temperature change
- Unfailing attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Sound judgment and strong decision-making skills
- Ability to act both independently and as a team player
- A positive attitude and openness to feedback
- CurrentStandard First-Aid and CPR-C Certification/ willing to obtain
Note:On-the-job training will be provided upon employment.
PreferredQualifications andSkills
- Knowledge and/or experience in outdoor recreationactivitiesincluding camps
- Experience in a risk-managementposition
- Experience working in a fast-paced hospitality/tourism-basedenvironment

Work Schedule
This is classified asaseasonalposition. Ourpeakseason typically runs from June to September depending on the weather and the needs of the business.Specific employee contracts can be flexible and adaptable to individual availability.
During the season Adventure Course Guides work a flexible schedule of full-time and part-time employment.This includes working evenings weekends and holidays.
