As our new Senior Professional Biologist you will have the opportunity to lead meaningful work across a range of projects including land development approvals contaminated sites linear infrastructure and closure programs in Western this senior role youll work closely with experienced decision-makers in a collaborative high-performing team that values initiative and results. We offer competitive compensation full benefits and a flexible supportive work environment that respects your professional and personal to make your mark Join us and lead the way in delivering smart science-based environmental a DifferenceLead biological and environmental componentsof multi-disciplinary projects including:Wetland Assessments (ABWRET-A WAIR Water Act)Aquatic and riparian habitat assessmentsSpecies at risk surveysMigratory Bird Convention Act compliance (nest sweeps buffers)Municipal Technical Environmental ReportsEnvironmental Screenings and Biophysical Impact AssessmentsPermitting and approvals under the Water Act Public Lands Act DFO ECCC and CER regulationsPlan and execute field programs often in coordination with environmental site assessments (Phase 1 and Phase 2) remediation and reclamation programs and pre-disturbance permitting and regulatory strategyfor linear infrastructure (pipelines transmission) land development and closure projects across Alberta and junior staff provide technical review and lead QA/QC of biological deliverables and regulatory and maintain strong relationshipswith clients regulators and Indigenous communities and contribute to proposal writing and project your Education & ExpertiseRegistered Professional Biologist(. .) in Authenticating Aquatic Environmental Specialist.10 years of relevant experience in terrestrial and/or aquatic biology in Western understanding of provincial and federal environmental regulations permitting pathways and technical guidance experience coordinating with regulators (Alberta Environment and Parks DFO ECCC municipalities).Excellent technical writing and reporting organizational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and drivers license and willingness to travel for sense of humour and a strong admiration of our Mullet Culture is an asset.
