Job Summary

Purpose and Scope

During Summer Learning Academy develops strategies and/or specialized Intervention or Prevention programs to improve the behavior of students who experience significant social-behavioral challenges.

Minimum Qualifications

The position requires a Masters degree in Mental Health related area Social Work Education Juvenile Justice Special Education Psychology School Counseling School Psychology or equivalent State licensure or Board certification in area of specialization such as Guidance and Counseling Mental Health Alcohol and Drug Counseling Clinical Social Work Licensed Professional Counselor Behavior Analyst or related area from the Tennessee Department of Mental Health or equivalent. Also required is a Valid Tennessee Drivers license and two years of experience in area of specialization or equivalent.

The following special conditions are required: Commitment for the entire period of Summer Learning and attendance at the Summer Learning graduation. May involve missing some district training opportunities. Attendance at ALL preparatory planning sessions and periodic administrative meetings. Availability prior to the end of the regular school assignment contract to participate in Summer Learning setup and preparation. Availability for Summer Learning closeout operations which may occur after the new academic year contract has started.

This position is for SUMMER LEARNING ACADEMY ONLY.

Degree Equivalency Formula:

Bachelors Degree 4 years plus required years of experience.

Masters Degree 2 years plus required years of experience. Where Masters degrees are required years for Bachelors Degrees must be included.
