About the Opportunity

Star Nursing is seeking an experienced Trauma Program Nurse Manager to lead and oversee a hospital-based trauma program.

This role focuses on trauma program compliance performance improvement and coordination across emergency surgical and critical care services.

Position Summary

The Trauma Program Nurse Manager provides operational administrative and quality oversight of the trauma program in collaboration with the Trauma Medical Director. This role ensures compliance with ACS COT standards state regulations and internal performance improvement initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Oversight

  • Lead trauma program operations and registry oversight
  • Supervise PI coordinators registrars and injury prevention programs
  • Ensure readiness for ACS verification and state designation

Quality & Compliance

  • Manage trauma PI (PIPS) processes
  • Ensure compliance with:
    • ACS COT standards
    • Joint Commission standards
    • Florida Department of Health trauma regulations
  • Monitor outcomes and implement improvements

Collaboration

  • Partner with Trauma Medical Director and hospital leadership
  • Work closely with ED ICU surgical services and ancillary teams

Team Leadership

  • Lead mentor and develop trauma program staff
  • Promote accountability and performance excellence

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing
  • Active Florida RN license
  • Minimum 5 years trauma or emergency nursing experience
  • Trauma program leadership or quality improvement experience
  • Certifications Required:
    • BLS
    • ACLS
    • TNCC

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Nursing or related field
  • PALS ENPC
  • Prior trauma program leadership experience
