Area Sales Manager
Location: Regional territory-based role in the U.S.
Classification: Exempt
Reports to: General Manager
About the Opportunity
A growing building products organization is seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager to lead develop and support a regional sales team. This role is ideal for a hands-on sales leader who enjoys building strong customer relationships coaching sales talent driving accountability and creating market growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead manage and develop sales team members within the assigned market.
- Build and maintain strong customer and industry relationships.
- Drive sales performance through scorecards metrics and accountability.
- Lead daily customer-focused meetings to review issues opportunities and service performance.
- Partner with HR and leadership to recruit and develop sales talent.
- Attend customer and industry events focused on relationship building product training and process improvement.
- Collaborate with internal teams and customers to resolve issues and deliver solutions.
- Oversee showroom displays to ensure functionality appearance and customer impact.
- Support profitability goals by managing budgets costs and market performance.
Key Requirements
- 5 years of sales leadership experience.
- Experience in building materials construction products or a related industry preferred.
- Strong leadership decision-making and performance management skills.
- Excellent verbal written presentation and negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to drive results and hold teams accountable.
- Strong relationship-building and conflict-resolution skills.
- Knowledge of order entry sales and operations management systems.
- Ability to work across office warehouse fabrication showroom and construction site environments.
- Ability to travel as needed.
