Construction Inspector (OSP Fiber Projects)

Tekberry is seeking an experienced Construction Inspector (Outside Plant Fiber) to support our client a global leader in advanced materials and optical communications technologies. This role will support fiber optic construction projects (FTTH MDU FTTB) and ensure work is completed in compliance with engineering safety and quality standards.

This is a field-based role requiring daily site visits vendor coordination and real-time reporting of construction progress. The ideal candidate is highly self-directed detail-oriented and comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions.

• Monitor fiber optic (OSP) construction activities to ensure compliance with specifications and standards
• Review project drawings and documentation to maintain full project understanding
• Conduct field inspections and ensure proper installation practices

• Collect and report daily vendor activity using mobile systems (e.g. Sitetracker)
• Track project progress quality and material usage
• Provide updates to project managers and respond to field-related issues

• Interface with contractors and vendors to support project execution
• Direct contractor activities as needed to maintain timelines and quality
• Address project concerns and escalate issues appropriately

• Perform quality inspections using established checklists and standards
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements
• Support enforcement of industry and customer construction standards

• High School Diploma or GED required

• Experience in fiber optic / OSP construction inspection or related field work
• Familiarity with FTTX (Fiber-to-the-Home) projects

• Ability to read and interpret fiber optic construction drawings
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel Word Outlook)
• Experience with field reporting tools (Sitetracker or similar preferred)

• Valid U.S. Drivers License with clean driving record
• Must be able to travel daily to job sites (vehicle rental reimbursed)
• Must reside within 1 hour of Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area
• Ability to work independently in a field-based environment

• Experience supporting FTTH MDU or FTTB deployments
• Background in telecom utilities or infrastructure construction
• Prior experience working directly with contractors in the field

• 100% field-based role with daily travel to project sites
• Exposure to outdoor conditions (heat cold rain etc.)
• Physical activity required (walking standing driving throughout the day)
• PPE required (provided by client except steel-toe boots)

• Daily travel within the Scranton PA region
• Rental vehicle required (cost reimbursed by client)
