Inspector

Job Summary
- Conduct thorough inspections of rooms and facilities to assess current conditions identify damages maintenance needs safety concerns and missing furniture.
- Document room conditions and damages for assessment and billing purposes after spring move-out.
- Generate and enter work orders for any maintenance issues discovered during inspections.
- Work collaboratively with the custodial team and Housing Building Manager to identify and recommend corrective actions for deficiencies such as cleanliness safety hazards and maintenance concerns.
- Accountable for keys and other assets provided during employment.
- Perform inventory counts monitor vendor progress count fixtures and verify completion of work orders and custodial cleaning as directed.
- Calculate preliminary billing costs for damages using resource documents photo documentation and billing forms.
- Create and publish inspection and billing reports using appropriate software.
- Ensure adherence to established safety protocols for R&DE Student Housing Operations.
- Inspect custodial closets and lofting rooms as needed.
- Assist with special facility-related projects assigned by the Housing Building Manager.
- Maintain professional interactions and effective communication with colleagues students and outside vendors.
- Wear appropriate attire and maintain a presentable appearance at all times.
- Work a variable schedule as required including occasional weekends and extended hours.
- Driving is required for this position.
Skills & Qualifications:
- High School Degree preferred; one year of relevant experience or equivalent education/experience.
- Strong communication leadership and supervisory skills.
- Excellent problem-solving decision-making and customer service abilities.
- Ability to work independently with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with various software programs.
- Ability to learn and apply policies and procedures effectively.
- CA Driver s License preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as walking standing stair climbing and occasional kneeling/crawling.
- Willingness to work in varying conditions including both clean and dusty environments.
