Position Overview
Tekberry is seeking Facilities Inspectors to support student housing turnover operations. This role is responsible for inspecting residential units after spring move-out documenting damages for billing coordinating maintenance follow-up and ensuring units are fully prepared for incoming summer residents.
This position requires strong attention to detail accountability and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
Inspection & Assessment
Conduct detailed room and facility inspections to assess condition safety concerns missing items and maintenance needs
Document damages for billing purposes using provided guidelines forms and photo documentation
Identify deficiencies related to cleanliness safety hazards and maintenance issues
Maintenance Coordination & Work Orders
Enter and track corrective work orders for identified maintenance issues
Coordinate with custodial teams vendors and Housing Building Managers to resolve deficiencies
Monitor vendor progress and verify completion of repairs and cleaning
Inventory & Verification
Perform inventory counts and verify furniture fixtures and equipment are present and in proper condition
Survey custodial closets lofting rooms and storage areas as needed
Ensure all units meet readiness standards prior to occupancy
Reporting & Documentation
Generate reports and maintain accurate documentation using internal systems
Create preliminary billing estimates based on damage assessments
Maintain accountability for assigned keys equipment and assets
General Support
Assist with special projects and additional facility-related tasks as assigned
Interface professionally with staff students and external vendors
Follow all Residential & Dining Enterprises (R&DE) safety protocols and operational standards
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent and 1 year of relevant experience (or combination of education and experience)
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced high-volume environment
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new system
- Valid California Drivers License (driving required for this role)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in facilities housing operations property management or hospitality environments
Experience with inspections turnover processes or work order systems
Work Environment & Requirements
100% onsite role supporting student housing operations
Frequent walking standing stair use and movement throughout the day
Work environments may vary from clean residential units to spaces under maintenance or in transition
Occasional evenings weekends or extended hours based on operational needs
Ability to perform light physical tasks including lifting filing and handling materials

Maintain professionalism accountability and attention to detail in all tasks
