Location: Hosmer Elementary School
Reports to: ESY Coordinators Student Services Directors and Special Ed Coordinator
Salary range: $42.00/hour: Teachers $34.00/hour: Unlicensed Teacher
Shift: 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM Monday - Thursday
Dates: July 7 2026 - August 6 2026 (Monday - Thursday)
Preparation Day: Monday July 6 2026
Preschool:
- Bridge (Sub-Separate) Teacher - 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM Monday - Thursday
- Dates: July 7 2026 - August 6 2026 (Monday - Thursday)
- Preparation Day: Monday July 6 2026
- Integrated Classroom Teacher - Preschool - 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM Monday - Thursday
- Dates: July 7 2026 - July 30 2026 (Monday - Thursday)
- Preparation Day: Monday July 6 2026
These are integrated preschool classrooms. All preschool students are scheduled 9:00-12:00. Integrated students attend 2/4 days and sub-sep students attend 4/4 days.
General Description:
The Extended School Year (ESY) offers specialized instruction and related services to students beyond the regular school year. The position involves leading program activities supervising instruction and ensuring IEP goals and accommodations are met. Responsibilities include managing staff addressing parent and behavioral concerns monitoring student progress and collaborating with administrators to align the program with district your letter of interest please indicate which level/program you prefer. We have availability in the Bridge and inclusion classroom.
Responsibilities:
- Teach groupings of special education students in preschool
- Conduct whole group and/or small group literacy lessons
- Conduct whole groups and/or small group Math lessons
- Follow related IEP Goals and Accommodations
- Teach age-related social skills and functional behavior
- Teaching is focused on the prevention of skill regression
- Progress monitoring and reporting
Qualifications Required:
- Experience working with preschool age students preferred
- Experience collaborating with colleagues
- Experience reading IEPs
- Familiarity with best practices in literacy and math instruction
- Holds the belief that all children can learn
- Classroom management
- An ability to engage students in using all 4 domains: listening reading speaking and writing
- Attend pre-program training.
Preferred:
- Valid DESE licensure as Teacher of Students with Severe Disabilities or Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities preferred
- Experience working with students with a range of disabilities in a public school setting preferred
- CPR/First Aid Certification
