This role provides technical expertise and professional support in relation to SEC/PCAOB independence matters to our Audit & Assurance team. Our Audit teams provide value to our clients by delivering specialised quality audit and assurance services. High-quality independent financial statement audits are essential to maintaining investor confidence. Our audit professionals are committed to the public interest challenging assumptions and unlocking valuable insights based on a solid understanding of an organisations business and industry.
Your Opportunity
- Assist the Ethics & Independence team and the Audit team in managing various SEC/PCAOB Engagement Independence matters as well as APES 110 IESBA and Corporations Act 2001 Auditor Independence matters.
- Desing manage and execute the Engagement Independence component of a large-scale onboarding of new SEC audit client.
- Consult with the Ethics & Independence team the wider firm and other member firms to share knowledge on specific SEC independence issues to provide added value and timely responses to the business.
- Remain resilient under pressure and prioritise multiple tasks as necessary.
- Build effective relationships with KPMG Partners and staff both locally and globally.
How are you Extraordinary
- Demonstrate knowledge of SEC and PCAOB Auditor Independence rules and regulations particularly in the Engagement Independence space.
- Demonstrate knowledge of SEC affiliates rules.
- Experience in audit risk consulting or risk management from either a Big 4 or mid-tier professional services firm.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Auditor independence rules and regulations such as APES 110 IESBA and Corporations Act 2001 and awareness of EU and UK PIE rules.
- Experience in the onboarding of prospective SEC audit clients.
- Experience in application of SEC affiliates rules in large Private Equity structures.
Qualifications :
Relevant tertiary qualifications such as a degree in Accounting CA or CPA.
